What is the most popular city name in the USA?

I was just wondering what everyone thought. You know how there is a Pasadena in CA and MD. Portland in ME and OR and Springfield's all over the place. What is the city name that is used the most in the states?

What is the most popular city name in the USA?
I guess a lot of people didn't understand your question!

Springfield is definitely one of the most common, if not the most (there's got to be a site online somewhere that lists these things!). Washington is a common place-name, too. A lot of places in the eastern part of the country were named after towns and cities in England - I know of a few towns named Waterbury, Marlboro (or Marlborough), and other similar names. Newtown/Newton is common, too.

More random useless information - Warren is the only town that exists in each state in New England (CT, MA, RI, VT, NH, and ME)
Reply:Salem and Springfield are both in 23 of the 50 states. This does not include Winston Salem, or the 2 West Salems, and 1 North Salem. So I would have to go with Salem. You can go to http://www.bestplaces.net/sear... and see for yourself. Report Abuse
