I don't know where the above list comes form - there isn't yet an official one for 2007 - obviously, since the yera isn't over yet.





The Gesellschaft f眉r Deutsche Sprache compiles an annual list of the most popular names. You can see the 2006 list here, plus the lists from a long line of years back. And there's a list of the most popular names from the fifties to 2000, which is fun to go through.

Apparently, the top girl's name still is Marie - it has been among the top names for several years now.

What is the most popular girl麓s name in Germany?
