heyy,, i was thinking... do you think Emily will be number one on the top 100 baby girl name's list of 2008.
i dont think it will be because a lot of people say that it is too common so i dont think anyone is really naming their baby Emily anymore. since it's sooo common.
i think emma, madison, or isabella will take Emily's place.
what do you guys think of this? comments/thoughts...
Most popular name of '08?
try going on this web site. http://www.babynames.com/Names/Popular/
Reply:Emily wasn't even the top name of 2007. Ava was the top name in my province and Emma was the top in my country. I really don't like the name Ava. I think it's ridiculously common at this point but people keep suggesting it as a 'unique name'. People name their kids that without the knowledge that come kindergarden there are going to be 3 or 4 in one class! They think their being so unique and creative. Ava is the 'new' Jessica.
I'd bet the top 10 names of 08 would be Ava, Abigail, Madison, Madelyn, Olivia, Sophie or Sophia, Hailey, Emma and Kaylee.
Reply:It sucks because I've loved the name Emily since I was a little girl and always planned on using it. My husband agreed when we started ttc 3 1/2 years ago. We now have a 5 month old son Logan (also chosen years ago but is now getting popular) and if I have a girl next, I don't feel like Emily is the name I want anymore because it's way too out there. I've picked new names and am seeing them alot lately.
Reply:According to most websites, Emily is the most popular for girls, and Jacob is most popular for boys.
But really, it's your baby, and you don't need other people telling you what to name it. Before the internet, people named their kids what they wanted and we all turned out fine.
Reply:I think Emma or Madison. Emily is definitely a contender but I agree that people don't name their kids Emily as much because it is so popular. I'm not sure why it was so popular though. I HATE the name Emily. I do like Emma and Isabella though. i would put my bets on Madison or Emma.
Reply:Emily will be on the top 100, but not number one. I think that Emma, and Addison will top the 08' name list (which is funny because my twin girls are Addison Riley and Emma Rose). Also Isabella and Madison will also be prob. in the top ten.
Reply:no, it's ashley
i had like 7 ashleys in my drama class alone, we had to assigned nick names!
emma is better than emily
but i personally think isabella is.....ew, it kindof goes with the rougher names like bertha and helga
Reply:Yeah i dont think Emily will be number one. I think Isabella will be ..............Nicole used to be sooo popular , but now it doesnt seem liek it is, i like it though !! I dont think Madison will make it to the first place, Emma might tho !! Or Jayden!
Reply:Well, I don't know a lot of people named Emily...but I think that Isabella would take Emily's place for sure, not to mention all the Jessicas, Jennifers, and Hannahs.
Reply:Emily is the top name for 2007 on the social security list.
Reply:I think Emily was most popular, and Michael was the most popular for boys.
Reply:It is cute if you go by Emilie the rate is low by

Reply:Madison is stealing the top of the charts, unfortunately.
I'm glad we have so many female sons of Maude running around!
Reply:no I dont think emily is that popular anymore. I think matt because its a safe name, been around forever
Reply:I think Sarah will rise to the top sometime soon, but probably Olivia in 2008 and Aidan for boys.
Reply:Yeah, Isabella or any of the Aidans.
