Yes it is a beautiful name, until everyone names there child it. And it seems more of a "this person did so ..." type thing, then someone actualling liking the name.

Hope it helps! ;)

ETA: Just saw your additional details, and Emily still reigns supreme (we've known dozens, and there's always at least one in each of our 1st-grader's classes, two on her soccer team, etc.). Others I simply hear a lot, regardless of popularity on paper, would include Madison, Addison, Avery, Aubrey, Sophia, Isabella/Isabelle/Bella, Jayden/Jayla/Jaylee, Michaela/Kayla/Kaylee, Mackenzie/McKenna, Arianna and all the Alex- names (Alexis, Alexa, Alexandra, Alexandria, Alexia, etc.).
Reply:emily is the MOST popular. ava's ONE of the most popular, but it's not THE most popular. (babynames.com says ava, but their list is based on the number of times each name was favorited) i'm in eighth grade, and i have 4 jessica's in gym, and loads of others. maybe it was popular 14 years ago.
Reply:Delilah since that song from the "Plain White Tees" came out. It's a really pretty name. I would name my daughter Delilah.
Reply:Sophia, Olivia
Reply:Emily and Emma yuck!

Ava, Isabella are also very popular.
Reply:According to the Social Security Administration, top ten baby names for girls this year are:

1 Emily

2 Emma

3 Madison

4 Isabella

5 Ava

6 Abigail

7 Olivia

8 Hannah

9 Sophia

10 Samantha
Reply:ava.
Reply:Ava or Riley.
Reply:Probably something retarded and trendy like Kaylee or Destiny or Bailey... *gag*

OR a normal name, spelled in ridiculous way to be "unique".
Reply:Ava and Emily. Way too overused!
Reply:popular names: emily, katie, brooke (eww)

my favorite for a girl is, tegan.
Reply:Ava is number one and Abigail number two, for newborn girls in the year 2007.

My mom is a fifth grade teacher, and my dad also in primary school. They see a lot of Emily's (only #32 this year) and Maddy's (Madeline is #4). I also hear Ava or Olivia a lot.
