Doesn't it really depend on what you're trying to do?
I mean, for instance, if you're trying to design a web page, Microsoft Excel won't help one bit, even though it might be popular.
Or, if you need to write a program in Visual Studio, then even though (for instance) Norton might possibly be the most popular, it's not at all productive for YOUR situation.
Ya need to be a little more specific (*GRIN*)
